"I’ve been training with Mr. Cho for 6 months and I am pleasantly amazed at my progress in a relatively short time. Without sounding cliché, my experience has given me much more than I expected. Of course, I am in better shape, I am already much more flexible, and stress is reduced.

Perhaps most surprisingly, TKD has improved a severe back problem. I expected the contrary, instead, it has relieved stiffness and pain. Each class begins and ends with a great deal of stretching and strengthening, which respects my body’s need to prepare and recover.

Also, my motivation to work out has never been higher..."

It is is easy to find either a local MMA gym teaching people to be "killing machines" or a "buy-a-belt" watered-down version of a traditional martial arts school. We are neither.

Highlights From A Class:

Cho's Tae Kwon Do classes are conducted in a traditional manner, emphasizing respect, discipline, perseverance, focus and the steady pursuit of perfection. We are here to preserve and pass down an ancient art in its true form. We do incorporate the best of modern training practices as keeping an open mind and attitude is part of our tradition.  Training is intense and challenging, however beginners are offerred the opportunity to grow into a full pace.

Classes vary to ensure all aspects of Tae Kwon Do are practiced. We teach fundamental stances, techniques and forms (hyung). The fundamentals remain the same as in ancient times. We also teach practical self-defense and free-sparring (kyorugi)—using punches, kicks, elbows, knees, etc. Again, tradition is not the absence of growth nor an open mind.

** We offer Jiu Jitsu classes, as well as Muay Thai and Boxing clinics. Expert level instructors. **

Flexibility, strength, speed, endurance and recovery training are also an integral part of our curriculum.

Belts are not bought at our school, they are earned through hard work and years of dedication. If you put in the time and energy, you will be given the tools to defend yourself and live a very healthy and fulfilling life.

If interested, we can offer coaching to compete in various styles of martial arts events.

We offer a balanced curriculum and also promote the regular practice of Yoga; thus the creation of Cho's Academy. We have come to learn that balancing the two complementary arts offers a powerful practice.

We are a proud member of the Action International Martial Arts Association (AIMAA), which is an open martial arts organization founded by Grandmaster Hee Il Cho in 1980. We support and participate in AIMAA seminars, tournaments and other sanctioned events. These events provide great opportunities to meet and share experiences with martial artists from all over the world. The experiences are always fun, rewarding, educational and very memorable.
